My Funny Valentine

So here are the Valentines I did for the kids this year.  Believe it or not, this is easier for me than buying a box at the store, making the kids write all the names on them, figuring out how to affix some candy to them, etc.

Plus, they're cute & fun.

I don't know if I'll be able to get JBird to do it again (is 5th grade too old for this?) but he says all the kids in his class loved it this year.  TBone's was a hit and, of course, who could resist Beebee's?  I was entirely deflated, however, when Beebs returned home from school on Thursday (the day of the Valentine's Day festivities) with ALL of her Valentines still in her bag.  She didn't hand any of them out!  Now, who do I blame here... her for not listening to direction/not hearing the directions or the teachers for not making sure all the kids went around and passed theirs out??  She just turned FOUR fhs.  It was the most annoying thing that had happened to me all week and, if you read my last post, you  know I had been highly annoyed all week.  So we gave some to the neighbors and I'm trying to decide if I should send them in on the next school day for the kids.  I waffle between wanting the parents to see how cute they are and not wanting the parents to think I'm a total flake/late Valentine maker.  I also don't want to be stuck with 20 of these things either.   Oh my trials!!  ::repeating "What doesn't kill me will only make me stronger" while rocking back & forth::

Now, help me translate this Valentine TBone got from a cute girl in his class named Sam.

Stalker in training?
Please advise.

Definitely a stalker.

Had to get caught up on your blog. I had just stopped by to say hello when I noticed that you had updated THREE times since the last time I came by here. Your kids have grown up so much! TBone got baptized (same day as Wolfes, BTW), You had a comical vacay which could totally be made into a movie starring Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn, and you made us all look bad with your super duper cute Valentines which I will copy next year and take full credit for the idea.

I came this close ::holding fingers together:: to doing these. I'm guessing we saw the idea from the same place. ::wink:: But I got too lazy. Kudos to you for living through that vacay and still coming up with these.

I almost made Valentines just like TBone's for my boys this year. We must read the same craft blogs. :)

Your life is so hard.

I know it is obvious to everyone where these supposed "craft blogs" are, but your execution was incredible and if I were a parent of a kid in one of their classes I would never have thought "oh she must browse the internet" rather I would have thought "wow what a creative mom."

Did you ask Tanner why that kid wrote he was watching him? Maybe he was literally watching him while he was writing his name. I also like his use of parenthesis.

Tiff...the valentine's are great! Nice work, mom! As for the stalking valentine...is this the first sign of stalking from this kid? Ask Tbone that question...if it is then blow it off, if not then I you gotta do something :)

K, people, Sam is short for Samantha. I said "from a cute girl in his class"....obviously you gize just skim my posts!! But yeah, it's not as creepy when you know it's a girlie so I thought I'd clarify.

Tiffers, that little girl obviously LOVES Tbone. Didn't anyone notice the little heart at the end. What she means is. . . .she's watching him as he walks away, etc. with love/lust in her heart.

Your short hop to the midwest sounded totally awesome. We've had a few of those over the years and no, the memories do not diminish with time.

So glad you're back in the blogging swing of things. I need my fix every couple of days so keep it up girly.

Seriously, I would like you to start a new valentine day card service (in your free time) for those of us who love the idea but fall back on the ol' fun dip candy cards--those were sooooo freakin' cute! I've never seen anything like them!

Ah...the fun dip. That's what we did this year. Premade cheapie valentines from the grocery store, taped on fun dip. I don't think Sam(antha) seems so much stalkerish, as she does honest. Who doesn't want to watch T-Bone? He's a riot!!!

We did the same thing as you, Standz, with fun dip and a card taped on. We must read the same craft blogs. Now I feel dumb!

PS. I love Tanner's card the best!

OH MY GOSH! Those are soooo cute and I may steal the idea for my kids next year...if they let me. And what is this craft blog that everyone is discussing and winking about??? Inquiring minds need to know. I'm starting to feel really left out.
