Has Brains, Will Play Football

We're rolling out an amazing chore chart tonight for FHE. It's based on points. The boys will get a penny for every point they earn. Jbird was thinking he would try to earn 100 points per day and therefore earn $1/day (this is impossible, though you gize . . . don't tell Jbird).

JBird: Soooo.... in five weeks I could have.... ::doing calculations in his head::
Me: $35
JBird: Yeah cuz...
Me: 7x5 is ::counting on fingers:: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35
JBird: OR you could do 7, 14, 21, 28, 35
Me: Isn't it easier to count by 5s?
JBird: It's easier for me to count by touchdowns.

LOLLERZ!!!!!!!!!!!11 Gty gets his miniature sports obsessed kid. I'm a lot jealous.

ps. a dollar for every point, with 100 points a day would be $100 a day. Math is hard tho.

I clearly said a penny per point Memz... reading is hard.

And yeah, the sports obsession is off the hizzook. Who chooses to count by 7s? Ugh.

From the makers of John Madden Football - John Madden's Monday Night Math!!

I count in Hexadecimal by the way.

That is the best. Also very generous of you. I think I am going to come to your house and earn a thousand points in a day. That way in 5 weeks I will have...I am confused by field goals, and point after touchdowns, and thus cannot compute. I am pretty sure it is enough for a new jacket.

I think that after I took out all the food you had eaten & TV you watched you would probably break about even Katie.

Markie, Imma write John Madden a letter saying he should come up with a Leapster game. Cuz if that man needs something, it's more money.

I hear counting by 7's is a sign of a genius.

How cute that you went back in and edited your post just so you could make me look silly.

Whichchild wins the "quote of the day" contest? Charchar or JBird. Me thinks it's a tie. Heeelarious.

Tiffers, Also--'cuz you MIGHT be the sewing kind. I'm totally stealing this idea from Gramma via Jamie's Tony. He suggested she make BYU pillows for the next auction. She will. In the meantime, promise not to tell her. Check out this website to see what some of my chillins are getting for Christmas. www.LDSfabric.com--put in search word: BYU. . . and GO!

Blogging is fun but editing after comments is funnererer.

Aunt Visor, this isn't a competition! Plus, JBird wins.

Oooooh! I bet they're gonna love the vinyl tablecloth! ::winkwink::

Carol said...

Vinyl---no, no, no. NOt vinyl. The flannel for pillow cases and trim on sheets and the fleece for, well, you know what. I'm thinking Kevin's boys will want to sleep in BYU trimmed sheets, on BYU pillow cases, under a BYU fleece blanket. Whadda ya think?

P.S. AND, it will be a surpise for a certain mother. Not sayin' who, but you know who.

I am sure Gty is one proud papa. Great post.

That boy is every sport obsessed Dad's dream! Let me know if your new chore strategy works.

Clever indeed! Counting in 7s is way hard past 27, especially if there is any punting or interceptions. Yeah, I don't know what I'm talking about either. Sorry about that.

Jenny's player missed the 1 point kick after the touchdown. Now they are going to have to go for a 2 point conversion after the next touchdown.

Anna B said...

Huh? Sorry you lost me at 1 penny.

Awesome. My kids are too lazy to even want to work for money. It's pretty bad. What a cool kid you've got there.

Very cute, and very smart.

What is a spag bol? I am assuming is is short of totally lame blogging day. I would just like to point out how far down my list I had to scroll to get to your blog. Like, really far!

I know you have been "blogging" today, but i am left leaving comments on this old post, which I must admit is pretty good. I can see why you don't want to post right away, someone might not scroll down to read it.

That was so freaking cool. I just went back and you had answered my question already. I love instant gratification. I am only on page 50 something. My mind has been a wondering.

My sister is going to be sooo jealous! Ahhh, so bored. I put my kids to bed early for a cleaning infraction, and it is only 7:02. i was looking forward to blogging, but now...not that you aren't a good time...

Hazel said...

Sorry, I wasn't instantly gratified, I guess. The cleaning infraction was watching TV instead of cleaning. I wish it was something cooler like washing things off with a baby wipe that had already been used to wipe a bottom. Would have been funnier, huh.
I don't even own pledge, dusting isn't really my thing.
