Classic Maui

I'm sure more of you (than just Jespy) were confused by our attire in the last post.  One doesn't think of Maui and think rain coats and pants.  I admit I wasn't expecting that myself, but we had to do the volcano thing early in the trip so our bodies were still mostly on CO time.  2am REAL Maui time?  Fuggetaboutit.

Now let's move on to some more "what we were all expecting" pics, mkay?  Starting with the above pic of our view on the beach yesterday.  Gorge.

Obviously we were all expecting my blinding white skin to cause some retinal damage.

Here's the obligatory "playing in the Pacific" pictures I'm sure you had on your check list.

Pictures of us at a nice waterfront restaurant were sure to be expected.

Snorkel, anyone?

(Side note: I'm not a huge fan of snorkeling.  There is something unnatural about breathing while underwater.  It makes me start panicking.  Not to mention the creepy sea life that appears out of no where and could do who-knows-what to me.  Ick.)

And, (lucky!) look who got to have their 39th birthday on the loverly island!  Aren't I a nice wife to give him this trip as his gift?  Cuz srsly, that's all he got.   The economy you know...

Aloha & Mahalo.

Maholla! Srsly tho. I mean clearly you have internet and STILL gty hasn't thanked me for the e-card. :: sigh ::
srsly you don't like snorklin? I could do it all day every day. Cuz you can pee as you swim!

Gty says "Maholla! for the e-card but [he] e-deleted it already." So I guess he forgot to mention? And yeah, snorkeling is creepsville. Except for when we snorkeled in Oahu 7 years ago. That had no creepiness for some reason. And when we snorkeled in Aruba on our cruise two years ago I barfed in the water so....

Eeka, I know. I know. I now have a sunburn on just the front of my legs. I look like Two-Face.

Nice legs--even thought they're white--nice. So happy you're having a great time. Looks beautiful.

No luau pics? Fire dancers... Hula girls... poi? I'm starting to think you just put on Hawaiian shirts and went to Ensenada.

Ooohh, Ensenada is nice. I took a bus tour of it once. I took Dwight to Missouri for his 39th birthday. We'll probably go to someplace a little nicer though for his 40th, like Provo.

There's no Bufadora in Provo, but we're here... C'mon down!

At first I didn't recognize you and Gty in that restaurant pic, and then I scrolled down and realized that couple wasn't you. Weird. You should have labeled it or something. Like, "btw, we went with some people who kinda look like us if you squint your eyes."
