Baker's Dozen

You got me American Idol. You really got me this time.

I'm ashamed to admit that I, while sitting in my family room alone, swore when they said Dueling Pianos got through and not NoopDawg.

I then shed a tear when they made it the first Top 13 in AI history.

I'm in too deep.

It's affecting me too much.

Can't stop now tho. I have podcasts to do and stuff (speaking of which, look for another bee-yute comin' atcha today).

Plus, it will slow down now as they pick them off one-by-one.

In honor of Fave Foto Friday, I have posted the ensemble performance of Wednesday nights results show. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen. Yes, I set up a tripod, turned off all the lights and recorded it off the TV. Still funny. Keep an "eye" on you-know-who.

No, the sound is not off on my camera... that is how it looked on the TV. Gty is convinced they are lip syncing because NO ONE is singing the right words. I'll let you decide. It's awesome either way.

That was too close for comfort. Of course, I only got to hear about it second-hand from you, instead of actually experiencing the devastation-followed-by-elation myself. I can't blame my TiVo, tho. If they are gonna go over a few minutes, they need to put that on the TV schedule. Sheesh.

The video was as painful and awkward as expected. If I was blind, I wouldn't go traipsing blindly across a crowded stage either, so it was a good move for them to employ the services of the gal who choreographs Barney and Friends. Thanks for posting it. I'm gonna go watch again...

Mitch thinks they were lip syncing as well. Too bad my DVR cut out because the show went over and i missed the infamous Baker's dozen moment! SO MAD! But also, so glad that it ever happened

Okay so I think if I had a TiVo I would always record the next show, but what do I know?

Everyone I know missed the last few minutes but surely there are some posts on youtube that AI hasn't yanked quite yet.

Conspiracy btw.

Anyway I have to admit that the judges have better taste than America. Except Jasmine. Complete with Disney Character name and all.

I hate to say it but I saw the Noop-Dawg coming. Can't ever stand watching the group numbers. Too much gayness for all to handle.

Our Tivo (Media Center PC) cut out right after they selected tattoo girl so I had to go to the web to find out the final contestant - upset that both dueling pianos and NoopDog couldn't go thorough. I was happy to find out that both of them made it. Wish I could have seen the moment. Not only did our recorder cut off the end of Idol, but it cut off the beginning of The Office. Grrrr.

My super smart DVR records when shows actually go over time. I guess mine is special or something.

I myself shriekedy shrieked thru the house and woke up my sleeping kids when Anoopy got to stay. LURVED it. It made my day. Aaah the essitement.

Typically, we have our DVR set to record over a couple of minutes anyway. But who knows why that wasn't done for AI last. Thankfully, I was only a text away from finding out. I was personally a little bit sick when Tati leaned against the desk in desperation over the fact that she'd been cut. Are you kidding me? Did we really have to see that? Paula, take her out to lunch - since you luuuuvvvvv her so much. And how do you think Tati felt when she learned they made it 13 and still didn't pick her. Take that.

The first time around, I went to throw in a load of laundry during the group number. I knew I couldn't handle it. I did watch your clip of it though, with one hand over my eyes and I would LOVE to know why they have them singing a song about a 'love bipolar' on AI?

I am just finding out that Noop Dog mad it. I had no idea until this moment on your blog. So important to me. I had really lost my will to watch the show when i thought that Jasmine (It is a bad word to me now) took his spot. I lost faith in the show, but they have gone and totally redeemed themselves.

Memzy-what kind of DVR do you have? I want it so bad.

Guess who is getting an i phone!!!!

I was distraught about Braddy but I knew you'd be so happy about #13 Anoop! I still have yet to decide whether I really like him or not. Other than his name is really fun to say, I'm not sold YET.
And Tattoo? It seems like she is purposefully trying to sound different instead of naturally sounding different. Just wait until she has to sing something actually challenging. It won't be pretty, although she is pretty & basically that's what got her through.
I'm going back to look at the group song now. I need a good laugh!

I'll record the BD moment tonight and post it. It's too fun to not see the clip for realzies.

But srsly, you gize, TiVo/DVRs are not a new invention. You all should know the nuances and pitfalls that come with relying too heavily on their technology. ALWAYS set your shows to record AT LEAST five minutes "longer than scheduled." That is just good Tivo ownership right there.

And right... I totally forgot about them having to talk Tati off the ledge. They can't have an attempted suey on their hands. That's not good for business.

Jasmine will be the first to go. The judges are lame.

KATIE!!! WHEN????? This is big news. Huge actually.

OurF.... not sold on Anoop? NOT SOLD ON ANOOP? I can't even look at you right now. I'll try and get over it before tonight tho.

We haven't picked a date yet, but I am going to blog about it like crazy when I get it. You will know.

^^Picking a date? Are you gonna marry it? You're officially out of my support group Katie!
Landee, I WOULD have recorded the next show after Idol to make sure not to miss the end, but I had to record The Office... duh.

I had Hell's Kitchen recording for Dwight, so I saw it all play out. Mark, you need a dual tuner tivo.

Carol said...

Lulu, YES!!! Please put the end of the show up on your blog for all to see. I'll try to go over to Memzy's today but Uncle Visor wants to see it too. Do it, do it, do it. Loved when Tati got voted off but irritated at the producers for giving her phsycho reaction air time. Sooooo glad it's over for her.

I missed what you were wanting me to look for in the video. I was watching for "she who must not be named" and it wasn't until the end of the video when I never saw her that I got you meant blind guy.

Last nights annoucement of the top thirteen was emotional and very fun. It is a good thing I watch record Hell's Kitchen as well. I was so annoying that even though Jasmine SUCKED during her song the judges pretended it was good so they could put her through. She is just so "commercial".

Elder Jack Anderson said...

Markie, srsly. Dual tuner. What, are you from the early 2000s? My dual tuner was going nuts downstairs and my original Tivo was purring like a kitten upstairs. I am so busy.

If Jasmine as in a commercial, I would purposely not buy whatever she was trying to sell. Unless it was Diet Dr. Pepper and then all my policies go out the window.

Oh those group numbers. I could go on and on about them. They are awful!!!! Always. They try to give them choreography too which is a total joke.
In this one, they opted for the classic "musical chairs" choreography. oh help me.

listen, I have duel tuner TiVo and a DVR on my compy upstairs and I still missed the end. My thursday night TV schedule is crazy busy, so if AI wants to go over the hour, they need to schedule in advance. They lost half of their audience, thus they lost half of their dramatic effect.

Katie???? Early bday present? Don't tease us.

Elder Jack Anderson said...

Then, Jespy, you need to go back to my original advice and set your shows to record for a few minutes longer... always.

Musical Chairs.

Elder Jack Anderson said...

BTW, you gize, this YouTube video has already been viewed 162 times. This blows out the record set by the Seattle Six video of 78 times. My YouTube account is pickin' up!

E said...

No, no, you don't get what I'm saying. You might not understand this bc my TV schedule is way crazier than yours, but my TiVo was set to record two different shows at 9pm sharp, directly following AI, and my compy DVR was recording a third show at 9pm sharp. So I could not schedule my TiVo to go over a few minutes bc it needed to record other shows.

And i'm totally boosting your YouTube ratings, btw.

My sister-in-law, Kathy, told me about your blog. You're quite funny! Loved reading your takes on AI. Couldn't agree with you more. Looking forward to following!
