Who Says Blogging Doesn't Pay?

No, I probably can't make a living blogging, but it can have some major perks! For example, I came home from my trip just a little bit richer as the following was waiting for me on the doorstep:

  • One package Brach's Autumn Mix candy
  • One Family Circle Magazine
  • Cherry Carmex
  • One can Stephen's Gourmet Hot Chocolate (Belgian Dark Chocolate)
  • One package of three Bic "Mark It" Fine Point Permanent Pens
  • One package of 12 spiffy blank note cards.
  • One pack Orbit Bubblemint gum
  • One cute note from Annie in which she explains this is a sampling of her favorite things that she was able to gather at Walmart in about 10 minutes. I can only imagine what would have been in there if she'd have had 20 minutes... my heck!
I mean, right? How awesome is that? And I got all of that simply by leaving a comment! This blogging gig just got that much sweeter. Thanks Annie! I need to come up with a way I can "pay it forward" now.

Another perk? I had tons of people at church today ask me how I was feeling after my bout with the flu. Pre-blog no one would have known/cared... but now? Ah, I was feelin' the love, people. Really, I was.

Now I'm off to a "Mini-MTC" over at the church for the youth. We're supposed to come dressed as missionaries... I'm thinking long skirt, cardigan & unfortunate looking but sensible shoes. Oh, and I better wash my make-up off ASAP. Unless I pretend like I got called to Temple Square..... hmmmm.....

One of my BFF's served at temple square, and I am totally telling her about that. She's always bragging about the mom from Happy Days hanging out at temple square. This otta shut her up!

Remember that one time I won a blog contest and waited WEEKS to get my prize?

No circus peanuts in that package? Those are Annie's favorites! Glad you are feeling better.

That's some good loot. Congrats. My favorite things gift package would have to include Dixon Ticonderoga pencils and an iPod, and that's why I can never have a blog contest. Can't afford it you gize.

jenny - I love Ticonderoga pencils too !! No one ever understands my love of a really great pencil - have I found a sister ?

Jenny, I think you can afford the pencils and then you can just put a picture of an iPod in there. And what am I missing here... isn't a pencil a pencil??

Righty, you wouldn't convert anyway. You already know the two hawtest mormons out there (i.e. Me & Memz) and you won't budge sooo... don't blame the unfortunate frumpy skirts & shoes.

They may not have circus peanuts at WalMart. I've never looked for them so I can't say for sure.

People only wear stuff like that at first, but then they go local and wear what the natives wear. My wardrobe improved significantly after going local- though I never did get that nice Mediterranean skin...

Jonesy--I'm a total pencil snob! At the very least, we're cousins.

L--I guess you have to do a lot of old school writing to really appreciate a good pencil. I do--I have tons of notebooks full of my sloppy handwriting--so that's probably why I love Ticonderoga pencils. They are only expensive comparatively speaking.

But yea. Good for you and your loot.

I knew Aunt Visor posting her blog to the entire family was gonna attract some of the crazies!

I love that you got a little package from a bloggy friend. Those are so fun....in fact I think I've received more cards and packages this past year than in all my 32 previous years combined!

Glad you're feeling better!

OH MY HECK it was so cute. He put together a candygram. He put that he hit the PAYDAY when we adopted him (abusive non denominational fam) and that he'd pay a MINT to help his friends find such sweet spirits to adopt them. but he's waggy for his GOLD (mini reeses in the gold foil) fire hydrant squeeky toy (royal treatment welcome to the fam prezzie) there's lots more.. but oh my cute!

Welcome back. Sorry you had the pukes. Glad you liked the package. And YES circus peanuts are my favorite and YES they do have them at WalMart but they are an acquired taste and I wasn't sure you were up to that.
