Buyer's Remorse

First of all, does it count on the final tally of Mouse Count! if we caught one in the garage? Didn't think so.... holding steady at 16, thank you very much.

So I do this thing every season where I kind of come up with a "uniform" for myself. I basically pick a look I like & pretty much wear it everyday. Buy one in every color, if you will.

In high school I remember getting a bunch of big (and I mean HUGE) button up shirts and then wearing them with leggings.

In college I was pretty much into huge sweaters and jeans (see ugly cry pic for proof). I also remember loving the knee-high socks with a plaid pleated skirt look. I had a few variations on that one. Pair it with a cute cardigan & you've got the guys lining up in the Lobby of S-hall and calling you on the lobby phone.

Early married years I wore plain scoop-neck t-shirts with high-waisted pants and a belt. Always a belt. Who doesn't wear a belt?? Lame people, that's who.

Anyway, for this coming fall and winter seasons I have decided on my uniform. It will consist of various hoodies and jeans (yes, Memzy, two of those pairs of jeans are overpriced, designer jeans---ha! Beat you to it! Now you'll have to come up with some kind of scrapbooking bit).

I'm going to get me some plain hoodies, some with some bling, fuzzy ones, slickery ones, maybe even some embroidery might be involved here... I don't know. As far as I can tell, the sky is the limit on hoodies these days.

So I was pushing my ginormous cart through Costco a couple of weeks ago and I see this table full of hoodies. I was so excited. I go over, try a couple on, settle on a size and a color and purchase said hoodie. It's a nice plain, take-the-kids-to-the-park-on-a-crisp-fall-day hoodie. Soft, comfy. You know the type.

I get it home.

I go to take off the tag.

This is what I see.

Ok.... what in the AYCHE have I purchased here?? Did I just buy an article of clothing that is being marketed to the 60+ crowd?? Don't get me wrong, I love 60+ year old people. I just don't want to wear their clothes. Honestly, that woman looks like my mom.

I'm freakin' out a bit here. I think I'm losing my edge.

I LOVE the "uniform" take you've got going here. I can revy much see this in you. And i completely agree. Uniforms are your way, and it works really well for you. Always has. My advice here (since it is still technically Tune in Tuesday) is to not worry about the "mature" lady picture on the tag. No one will know this when they see said hoodie on your cute, young, killer bod. No one. The boys will still be lining up at S-hall to call you on the lobby phone. Trust me.

I have to tell ya, I just "skimmed" the first few lines of yer blog(sorry its a lazy student habit) and I happenned to catch the word "mouse or mice" so Im not so sure the rest of yer blog is about yer mouse problem but I was just thinking, maybe its cuz of all yer dirty lazy cleaning tips?? Ya?? Anyway can I have that 50.00 you owe me soon?

^I'm sure she read it. That's just her "line."

I wouldn't have to see the tag to know that's an old lady hoodie, and I'm no style expert. If you start jogging like the tag lady, you're in serious trouble. SRSLY. I have a "uniform" too. It's nothing special, but it sure as H isn't "mature lady".

Home buyers - a person looking to purchase a home could not find a better time to be getting the best deals available within the housing market. Home buyers should also keep a few things in mind before buying a house simply because it seems like such a steal. You can get still more information about home buyers which I browsed on internet can fetch you help.

I don't see the problem. Kathy Lee is so sweet.

Homebuyers... am I going to have to start making peeps type in those annoying letters before they leave a comment? Are you here because I get thousands of hits every day? Do you think I dress like a 60 year old?

Memzy, ::sigh:: You've always been good at making me feel better.

AJ, are you here to make me feel worse?

Amy, I'd give anything for that to be Kathy Lee.

She is a very attractive old lady. And that hoodie is a hot ticket item at Costco, I am sure. I would put that hoodie in the 12-82 year old age range. It really just depends on what you pair with it. I think as long as it is paired with jeans and you never ever put it in the dryer you will be okay. Don't forget to pack that though so Edward can see you in it.

A 70 year range, huh? Ok.... so paired with matching capris = around 60. Paired with a mini-skirt = 14. Paired with jeans = around 30. Paired with polyester, elastic waist-banded, royal blue pants = 82.

Gotcha.

Ycome no dryer? I need it to be a little more "distressed" to finish the "around 30" look.

I'm pretty sure you could make anything look cute. You could start a new trend here...

I know I am most likely the "old lady" of this group (anybody else graduate high school in the 80's ?) but that woman does NOT look 60+. She looks like a dork - but she does not look OLD ! This is a "how you act when you wear it" issue. Not a "how old you have to be" to wear it issue. Just don't go cascading around your kids school, or the grocery store like "this hoodie gives me wings" and you'll be fine !! (No I am not sensitive about my age - I love being. . . um . . . 30-something.

Ok, I have a really OLD opinion..having graduated HS before most of you were born. But, I agree with Sara. Depends on what you wear it with.

I love hoodies, with jeans. But my jeans are considerably bigger and "older" looking than yours. I'm sure you look MUCH cuter. :0)

Tiffers, You could never look like THAT lady. It's all about the bod honey and you've got it. The face does sort of look like your mom when she's smiling :) I'm pretty sure I'm the oldest responder here and take my word for it--no worries--go for the Costco hoodies and make us all proud.

Oh my heck!! I was so not looking for a boost of my ego but you girlers delivered!! It's true Jonesy, she does look like a dork. But I submit that woman is at LEAST mid-50s. It's the "new 60" if you know what I mean. Plastic surgery, weekly spa treatments, sun screen.... it all adds up to that woman.

I'm going to try my darndest to not run like that whilst wearing it. It's gonna be hard.

Did I miss something here??? My uniform is Costco. I always buy my clothes and my kids clothes at Costco. In fact I'm pretty sure I have one of those hoodies in my closet as we speak. Oh 'C' (that's crap), am I really that big of a fuddy duddy?

Elder Jack Anderson said...

NO! I think the hoodie is cute too & I've purchased a couple of other hoodies from there (one sooooper cute Roxie one) in days gone by. But then the tag threw me for a loop & I started wondering if I accidentally just bought something that should have been in a Cold Water Creek store or something.

I'm still gonna wear it. It's quite possibly the most comfortable thing to ever touch my body. I just "had a moment."

I keep trying to come up with a new "uniform" for myself but somehow I seem to always revert to a Turban with a robe...JK...But seriously I like hoodies...with the hood on and a pair of dark sunglasses...JK...
Ok my uniform is a stanford style shirt with a pair of casual slacks.

I have to say that lady is a lil' creepy. She totally looks like she's sneaking up on someone. She snuck up on you, right? You wouldn't have left Costco with the hoodie had you seen the Sneeker beforehand. On a positive note, Christmas is coming up and you now have a cute hoodie to give to your mom! I can't wait to see your new fall uniforms, if it would ever get below 80 here that is.

Memzy said...

Dare I even say that you+hoodie=supercaliFLANKalisciousexpialidocious.

Elder Jack Anderson said...

Nice observation FowlerFam. It's like she's thinking "I'm gonna getcha!" oh "And I'm the new 60!"

She most definitely snuck up on me.

Dang you Costco for putting the prices in big page protectors above your head so you never have to look at the tag!!!!
